The Gunship is a base game ship specializing in combat and capable of dealing significant damage for its cost. It has a lot of damage potential against creeper while having access to a [[Cannon|Mark 1 Cannon]] for self defense. The Gunship is the cheapest ship to come equipped with a [[Rocket|Mercury Rocket Launcher]], meaning it has the highest damage potential compared to similar cost ships.

===== Unit Usage =====
The Gunship is a powerful ship with high damage output that can be thrown into most combat situations and be effective. The Gunship can be kept in a group with your other combat ships for a deathball style strategy, left on its own to defend a flank, or as a support ship to keep another unit safe. This lack of a major weakness means the ship is almost never a bad option to build and is a generally useful ship in most ship compositions at any point in a level.

The large amount of damage from the Gunship's rocket means that the Gunship tends to pair well with ships that can prevent lower levels of creeper from pushing through the gunships cannon. [[Anticreeper|Anticreeper]], [[Cannon|Cannons]] and [[freeze_cannon|Freeze Cannons]] all are excellent options for keeping a gunship safe.
